FRANKLIN, TN (October 21, 2011) -- Big Idea Entertainment, a leading studio and producer of children’s and family programming, characters and brands, announced today that for the first time they will release six of their top High Definition (HD) titles from its best-selling animated series VeggieTales® on Blu-ray™ early next year. Heading exclusively to Christian retail on February 18, 2012, each Blu-ray title will include a DVD disc complete with specially added bonus features and will be available for $16.99 SRP. These VeggieTales’ titles will be the first children’s “direct-to-DVD” Blu-ray discs released in the CBA market.
With Sony’s Blu-ray Disc technology gaining favor with consumers as the next-generation home video format and as top CBA retailers are creating Blu-ray sections for their stores, Big Idea responded to the growing consumer demand by making the best-selling VeggieTales titles available on Blu-ray.
“Big Idea’s VeggieTales was born out of creative innovation and state of the art technology and has grown over the years thru a variety of formats – including VHS, DVD and digital delivery,” says Greg Fritz, SVP Sales and Marketing, Big Idea Entertainment. “Bob, Larry and the Veggie crew will now make their debut on Blu-ray – ensuring the brand continues to be available in the most current and cutting edge format in the market. We trust our consumers will enjoy the new experience only Blu-ray technology can offer.”
The new Blu-ray / DVD combo packs from VeggieTales launch with a national radio, print and online advertising campaign. Additionally, Big idea is offering a $3 mail in consumer rebate with the purchase of each title.
